The Worst Performances by The Best NBA Players

Updated: Aug 31, 2023

Some NBA players are known to be the best in the league, but even the best of the best have bad games sometimes. Here are some of the worst performances from some of the best players:

Steph Curry

Steph Curry had his worst performance in game 2 of the 2015 NBA Finals.

In this game, Curry made only 5 out of his 23 shot attempts (21.7%). This includes making only 2 out of his 15 three-point attempts (13.3%)

He also ended the game with 6 turnovers.

This game is likely one of the reasons Andre Iguodala won the 2015 Finals MVP over Steph Curry even though Curry played very well the rest of the series.

Lebron James

Lebron James' worst shooting performance came on March 18th, 2005 in a game against the Philadelphia 76ers.

In this game, Lebron made only 3 of his 20 shot attempts (15%), including missing all 4 three-point attempts.

He did have 8 Assists, 8 Rebounds, and 4 steals, but the Cavaliers still lost by 12.

Jayson Tatum

Jayson Tatum's worst-ever game was on November 11, 2019, in a game against the Dallas Mavericks.

In this game, Tatum made only 1 of his 18 shot attempts (5.5%)

The Celtics somehow still managed to win this game, thanks to an impressive performance by Kemba Walker.

Kevin Durant

Kevin Durant's worst shooting performance took place on April 4th, 2008 in a game against the Houston Rockets.

In this Game, Durant made only 2 out of his 17 shot attempts, and his team ended up losing by 13.

This season Durant's team (The Seattle Supersonics) also has the 2nd worst record in the league

Russell Westbrook

On December 28th, 2011 Russell Westbrook missed all 13 of his shot attempts against the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Thunder were still able to win this game 98-95 thanks to a strong performance by Kevin Durant.

Chris Paul

Chris Paul's worst-ever shooting performance took place on March 26th, 2014.

In this game, Chris Paul missed all 12 of his shot attempts.

To make this even worse the Clippers ended up losing by only 2 points.

He did however have 12 assists this game.

Luckily none of these performances impacted these players that much, as they have still all managed to become great players.
