Last Thursday the NBA All-Star Starters were announced. While this is a big moment, every player that was named a starter, we already knew was going to be an all-star.
However, today the NBA All-Star reserves were announced which is arguably more exciting because they are up for debate and it is harder to guess who all of them will be.
The All-Star reserves are selected by NBA head coaches.
Here they are:
Eastern Conference:
Jaylen Brown (4x All-Star)
Pascal Siakam (3x All-Star)
Darius Garland (2x All-Star)
Cade Cunningham (1st-time All-Star)
Evan Mobley (1st-time All-Star)
Damian Lillard (9x All-Star)
Tyler Herro (1st-time All-Star)
Western Conference:
Anthony Edwards (3x All-Star)
Anthony Davis (10x All-Star)
James Harden (11x All-Star)
Jaren Jackson Jr. (2x All-Star)
Alperen Sengun (1st-time All-Star)
Jalen Williams (1st-time All-Star)
Victor Wembanyama (1st-time All-Star)
There were a lot of players that people thought should have been named all-stars but weren't but of course, there are many deserving players and only so many all-star spots.
The All-Star game will be played on Sunday, Feb. 16, at Chase Center in San Francisco. This year, the game will feature a new mini-tournament with four teams and three games up to 40 points. Charles Barkley, Shaquille O’Neal, and Kenny Smith will draft the teams next Thursday (February 6th)
