Anthony Davis is playing really well this season. Here is a bit more about his career and how he is playing:
Early Career:
Anthony Davis played in college for just one year, where he averaged 14 Points, 10 Rebounds, and 5 Blocks while making over 60% of his shots. In just this one year he won many awards such as Associated Press College Basketball Player of the Year, Sporting News Men's College Basketball Player of the Year, NABC Defensive Player of the Year, and more.
He was then drafted first overall by the New Orleans Pelicans in the 2012 NBA draft. He was an amazing player with the Pelicans, being a 6x All-Star and 3x All-NBA player. He also led the whole league in blocks in 3 of his years with the team.
Lakers:
In 2019, Anthony Davis was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers, teaming up with LeBron James. He continued to play very well with the Lakers being named an all-star in 2019 and 2020.
He played a big part in the Lakers winning the championship in 2020, averaging 25 Points, 11 Rebounds, 3 Assists, and 2 Blocks on 57% shooting in the Finals.
He was again named an all-star and a top defensive player of the year candidate last season.
This Season:
Why did I have the idea to write about Anthony Davis? Well because he is playing extremely well this season. In fact, he is currently #1 on the NBA's MVP ladder.
This season Davis is averaging an impressive:
32 Points
11 Rebounds
3 Assists
2 Blocks
1 Steal
57% of shots made
It is still very early in the season but it will be exciting to see how far Davis, LeBron, and the Lakers can make it this season.
