Malcolm Brogdon Wins 6th Man Of The Year

Updated: May 6, 2023

Malcolm Brogdon of The Boston Celtics has been named 6th Man Of The Year, beating Immanuel Quickley, who was the favorite to win the award.

Malcolm Brogdon has played great this season, just beating Immanuel Quickley for the award.

Quickley and Brogdon both played very well throughout the whole season but closer to the end of the season people started to believe Quickley could win the award over Brogdon. In the last 20 games of the season, Quickley averaged 21.7 Points, 4.5 Rebounds, and 4.5 Assists, making 46% of his shots. But to be fair Quickley was a starter in a lot of these games, while Malcolm Brogdon did not get the chance to start any games this season, giving Quickley a big advantage in terms of stats.

Quickley Vs. Brogdon Season Stats:

Immanuel Quickley and Malcolm Brogdon were the two main candidates for 6th Man of The Year, so the outstanding game that Quickley had against Brogdon's team showed why he was also a worthy candidate to win the award. In the last game that the Knicks played against the Celtics, Quickley had a very impressive 38 Points, 8 Rebounds, 7 Assists, 4 Steals, and 2 Blocks. Another huge factor to consider is that Malcolm Brogdon only played 67 games this season, while Quickley played 81. With such similar stats, it seems odd to say that Brogdon deserved the award over Quickly when he missed 14 more games.

Either way, Both Brogdon and Quickley had great seasons. Hopefully, Brogdon can continue his excellent play and Quickley can continue to prove himself.
