Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers has officially won the most valuable player award.

Joel Embiid has finally won MVP for the first time in his career, after being the runner-up for the award the past 2 seasons.

"It's been a long time coming," Embiid said on the TNT broadcast.

Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers ended with the 3rd best record in the NBA regular season, with Embiid averaging the most points per game out of any player this season.

This season Embiid averaged a very strong 33.1 points, 10.2 Rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game, making 54% of his shots.


Joel Embiid and the 76ers are currently in the conference semi-finals against the Celtics. Joel Embiid did not play game 1 due to injury, but the 76ers were able to win anyway. It is currently unknown if Embiid will be available to play in game 2.

Giannis Antetokounmpo

Giannis Antetokounmpo won MVP in both 2020 and 2019. This season he has led the Milwaukee Bucks through a 16-game winning streak, and the team ended the regular season with the best record in the NBA. This season he averaged an impressive 31.1 Points, 11.8 Rebounds, and 5.7 assists per game, while making 55.3% of his shots.



Nikola Jokic

Nikola Jokic won the MVP award the past 2 seasons. Jokic was very close to averaging a triple-double, which has only ever been done before by 2 other players. Jokic and the Nuggets ended with the best record in the western conference.

This season Nikola Jokic averaged 24.5 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 9.8 assists per game, making 63% of his shots.
