Derrick Rose was the youngest MVP ever and has been a great player throughout his whole career. Unfortunately, after getting very little playing time last season, it was clear that his time playing for the Knicks was coming to an end.
On June 24th, it was announced that the New York Knicks were declining their $15.6M team option on Derrick Rose, making him a free agent.
Now Derrick Rose has just signed a 2-year deal with the Memphis Grizzlies.
The Grizzlies want Rose as both a player and as a leader.
The Grizzlies, specifically Ja Morant, could definitely benefit from a leader and veteran player like Derrick Rose.
Rose will also play as the teams backup point guard at the start of the season as Ja Morant is suspended for the first 25 games.

Derrick Rose played for the University of Memphis in college and will now play for the Memphis Grizzlies in the NBA 15 years later.
