The Boston Celtics will face the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Finals.
Celtics
The Celtics made the Finals after sweeping the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals 4-0.
Celtics star players Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown both played very well in this series against the Pacers.
Tatum averaged:
30 Points
10 Rebounds
6 Assists
1 Steal
46% of shots made
Brown averaged:
30 Points
5 Rebounds
3 Assists
2 Steals
52% of shots made
Jaylen Brown was named Eastern Conference Finals MVP.
There has been some criticism of the Celtics' path to the finals, as they have played teams with many injuries. In the playoffs, they played the Cavaliers without Donovan Mitchell, The Heat without Jimmy Butler, and the last games against the Pacers without Tyrese Haliburton.
To be fair, the Celtics ended the regular season with the best record in the NBA, so they probably would have been able to win the Eastern Conference anyway.
The Celtics have not won a championship since 2008 and both Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown have not yet won one in their careers.
Mavericks
The Mavericks made the finals after defeating the Timberwolves 4-1 in the Western Conference Finals.
Unsurprisingly, Luka Doncic was the best player for the Mavericks in this series and won Western Conference Finals MVP.
In this series against the Timberwolves, Luka averaged:
32.4 Points
9.6 Rebounds
8.2 Assists
2.2 Steals
47.3% of shots made
The Mavericks won their only championship in 2011, and Luka Doncic has not yet won one in his career.
The NBA Finals begin on Thursday, June 6th at 8:30 PM EST
