Bulls Eliminate The Raptors From Playoff Contention

Updated: Apr 15, 2023

The Chicago Bulls have eliminated the Toronto Raptors and will now move on to face the Miami Heat for a final chance to make the playoffs.

This was a crazy game to watch for many reasons. The Raptors led by as many as 19, and the Bulls made a huge comeback in the second half.

The Raptors also shot a very low 50% from the free-throw line, missing 18 free throws, including 2 that would have tied the game. They normally make about 80% of their free throws. People are crediting this low free-throw percentage to Demar DeRozan's Daughter's loud screaming. (Click here for a video of this)

Bulls' Best Players Tonight:

The biggest contributions for the Bulls tonight unsurprisingly came from their top players Zach LaVine and Demar DeRozan.

Zach Lavine's Stats: Demar DeRozan's Stats:

39 Points 23 Points

3 Assists 3 Assists

6 Rebounds 7 Rebounds

54.5% of shots made (12-22) 52.6% of shots made (10-19)

If the Bulls win their next game they will make the playoffs.

The last time that the Bulls made it past the playoff conference semi-finals was back in 1998.

This was the same year that Michael Jordan was on the team and won his 6th championship in just 8 years. That Bulls team with Michael Jordan is thought to be one of the best NBA teams ever. In 1996 they ended with a record of 72 wins and only 10 losses and also won the finals.

The current Bulls team is obviously not even close to being on the same level as when Michael Jordan played for the team. However, this team does have potential as they have some great players like Demar DeRozan and Zach Lavine, so it will be interesting to see if they can make it to the playoffs and how much they can improve next year.
