At 12:16 AM on Sunday, February 3rd, the NBA's lead reporter Shams Charnania reported this trade.
The Dallas Mavericks are trading Luka Doncic, Maxi Kleber, and Markieff Morris to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for Anthony Davis, Max Christie, and a 2029 first-round pick!
A trade that absolutely nobody expected! In fact, when Shams first posted this everybody thought he was hacked.
It is confirmed that neither player requested a trade, but the Mavericks are the ones who initiated the trade.
Mavericks general Manager said "I believe that defense wins championships. I believe that getting an All-Defensive center and an All-NBA player with a defensive mindset gives us a better chance"
This is one of the craziest trades in a very long time! Luka Doncic will now be paired with LeBron James and Anthony Davis will now be paired with Kyrie Irving.

Seems kind of crazy to trade away a top 5 player that is only 25 years old.
Anthony Davis has played 6 seasons with the Lakers and has also been extremely good for the team. He averaged 25 Points, 11 Rebounds, 3 Assists, and 2 Blocks in his time with the team! He is a 10x All-Star, one of the best defenders in the NBA, and has been near the top of MVP discussions in previous years.
Overall, a shocking trade, which will be very interesting to watch!
