The NBA season just started this past week but there have already been a lot of impressive performances and cool moments!
Celtics Tie 3-Point Record:
On Tuesday, October 22nd the Boston Celtics played the New York Knicks in the first game of the season. In this game, the Celtics made 29 three-pointers, tying the NBA record for most 3's in a game! After the game Josh Hart (jokingly) said "The NBA needs to drug test them dudes. I ain't ever seen anything like that."
(They did however miss their last 13 three-point attempts of the game while desperately trying to break the record)
First-Ever Father-Son NBA Duo
On Tuesday, October 22nd The Los Angeles Lakers played the Minnesota Timberwolves. In this game near the end of the first half, LeBron and Bronny James checked into the game at the same time, making them the first father-son duo to ever play in an NBA game together. They only played together for a few minutes but this is pretty crazy considering Bronny wasn't even born yet when LeBron was drafted into the NBA.
Klay Thompson’s Mavericks Debut:
After playing his whole 13-season career with the Warriors, Klay Thompson left the team this offseason to join the Dallas Mavericks. After not playing too well in his last game with the Warriors, fans said that he was ‘trash’ and ‘washed’. However, he made a very good first impression with the Mavericks this Thursday, scoring 22 points on 54% Shooting, including 6 three-pointers. This set the record for most 3's by a player in their Mavericks debut.
Timberwolves Randle:
Julius Randle was an incredible player for the Knicks, averaging 23 points, 10 Rebounds, and 5 Assists. He was a 3x All-Star and 2x All-NBA player with the team. However, after not playing too well in his last playoffs with the team, many fans for some reason started to hate on him and discredit everything he had done for the team. This offseason he was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves, and he is off to a very good start with the team. In his second game with the team, he scored 33 points while making 76% of his shots!
I'm very happy with the way he is playing, as he is reminding all of the haters just how good he really is.
