Best NBA Christmas Day Moments

Merry Christmas! Take a look at some of the best NBA moments that took place on Christmas day!

Bernard King Scores 60 Points - 1984

Bernard King, one of the greatest Knicks of all time, holds the record for most points scored on Christmas day. In this Christmas Day game against the Nets, he scored 60 Points, 7 Rebounds, and 4 Assists, while making 63% of his shots.

The Knicks still ended up losing this game and ended the season with one of the worst records in the league.

Kobe Reverse Dunk - 2007

Whenever it was a close game, you knew Kobe was going to try to take over. With the Lakers up by 1, Kobe pulled off this nice one-handed reverse dunk to end the 3rd quarter.

The Lakers ended up winning this game 122-115, with Kobe scoring 38 Points, 7 Assists, and 5 Rebounds.

Derrick Rose Game Winner - 2011

Christmas Day 2011. Bulls vs. Lakers. The Lakers were winning 87-81 with under a minute left, but the Bulls cut the lead to one with 20 seconds remaining. The Lakers inbound the ball to Kobe but the Bulls played great defense to get the steal. With 10 seconds remaining, they put the ball in the hands of the youngest-ever MVP, Derrick Rose, who makes a nice shot to give the Bulls the lead and the win.

This was just a few months before Derick Rose's season-ending knee injury, and he hasn't been quite the same since.

Kyrie Game Winner - 2016

From 2015 through 2018 the Warriors and Cavaliers had quite the rivalry going on, playing each other in the NBA finals every year. These were very exciting matchups featuring many star players like Lebron James, Kyrie Irving, Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Kevin Durant.

Cleveland had just defeated the Warriors in last year's finals and the Warriors were seeking revenge during this Christmas day matchup. However, Kyrie Irving had other plans, hitting this nice shot to win the game.

The Warriors still ended up defeating the Cavaliers in the Finals this year and the next year.

Obi Toppin Between The Legs Dunk - 2021

On Christmas Day 2021, the New York Knicks played the Atlanta Hawks, a team that would become their rivals in the playoffs later this year. The Knicks had basically already won the game with about 1 minute remaining in the 4th quarter, so when Obi Toppin got the ball he decided to have some fun and make this nice between-the-legs dunk to finish the game off.

Obi Toppin always shows off his dunking when he has the chance, but unfortunately, he was traded to the Indiana Pacers last summer.

Merry Christmas!
